I rent half a house and it doesn't have laundry but I do have a washer/dryer hookup in the basement. I've lived here for 8 months and have done my laundry just fine at family's house or the laundromat that is a few buildings down. Unfortunately I work ~55 hours a week and have my young daughter the rest of the time and my general windows of time are so small and I don't love that I have to spend my only morning off tomorrow doing laundry.
Part of me thinks the ~1,000 or so plus the increase in utilities isn't worth it when I've managed fine. The other half of me says this is a reasonable purchase and would make life easier. The only debt I have is my car payment. I could theoretically purchase it outright in about 3 months if I decided that is where I want to put my extra money. What is this complex?
