Pretty simple, I like to live on the better value side of life, but I realise in the last year I've been through maybe 7 pairs of £1-£5 headphones. I always think that 'headphones are headphones' so I shouldn't need to buy more expensive than I can get, but now i see I could have bought something more expensive that would have lasted for longer (less wasteful as well as more fiscally friendly).

Most pound shop stuff breaks after a week, but then I don't want to waste my money on something which isn't any better, but is more expensive because of the branding or w/e

I'm hunting on amazon but I don't really know what I'm looking for (it's a pretty saturated market so hard to sift through reviews)

does anyone have recommendations/advice (hope this is apt for the sub?)

edit: happy to put £40+ towards something sturdy to stop churning through cheap stuff
