Despite all of the online hate, my wife and I ended up buying a new TR7 a couple of weeks ago. We were fed up with front load washers (been through 2 in the past 10 years). They both had to be meticulously maintained to keep the moldy smell away and they both broke spectacularly ( a Kenmore and ge ). We have 4 kids, so we do a lot of laundry.
In the end, the thought of having a 7 year warranty won us over. We didn’t care if the wash wasn’t as good, we just didn’t want to deal with the washing machine for at least 7 years.
Well, after having done a couple dozen loads, we can honestly say we love the washer so far. Our laundry (especially towels) comes out smelling amazing and we haven’t noticed any issues with our clothes not coming out clean. In fact, our laundry seems very clean and vibrant. And we are using the same soap we always have. We love that you can soak the laundry and use actual hot water. Also, the spin cycle is,very quiet. No more thumping and shaking the house apart like with our previous front loaders.
I did notice that the manual refers to models with a serial number prior to 201810 and those after 201810. Our serial starts with 201901 ( which I assume is the year/month of manufacture). The old eco wash time was 24 mins, the new eco wash time is 48 mins. There are some other differences it mentions (different agitator motion), but the cycle times seemed like the biggest changes.
Any way, I thought I would post some love for the newer SQ washers. I have no experience with previous models - and have no doubt they wash better - but we really do love our new SQ and look forward to it just doing its thing for at least 7 years (which would be a record for us).
