Me and my SO are wanting to build a home on her father's land. We have been fixated on shipping container homes and how unique and creative they are. We are really wanting to build this home and her father in law said he would cosign to help us get however much we need. I've estated the price to be around 80k which to me isn't anywhere near what basic houses go for in my area. Banks just seem to think it's to high of a risk. Our credit isn't they good compared to his. And we don't have enough money laying around to straight pay for the project. So we have turned to trying to finance it, however we have yet to be able to find any mortgage company that is willing to finance it. Is there anyone you know of that's an online mortgage company that will even consider financing this type of no. Traditional home? We have done our DD and I feel like we are stuck now and won't be able to have our dream home unless we have cold hard cash to but it. Thanks Reddit.
