When calculateing your asset allocation do you treat reits as stocks or alternative assets?

When i chart vgslx and vtsmx there is a strong correlation.

Apple and Microsoft IPO'd in the 80's. Amazon IPO'd in the 90's. Google IPO'd early 2000s, Facebook in the 2010's. What will be the stock, or the industry, or the sector to produce ridiculous gains in the 2020s?
Are 'share-leavers' (buybacks participators) the only ones that get any value if the company only ever does buybacks?
