My family is asking me to recommend all new printers for the family, preferably all the same model. The specifications are that it should work for at least 4-5 years (preferably longer) and it needs to be able to go a couple months without use, followed by a couple months being used several times per day (it'll be kept in a room temperature location the entire time).
At my job we use the Kyocera 4020 for pretty much everything, but I'm not sure if that would be the best case for a consumer. They've all been buying Epson 420/430s for years and they break down after 1-2 years and need to be replaced; they're looking for a printer that will last a good long time.
It'll be used to print up documents and occasionally land use maps.
