After seeing some people making book shelves and all other sorts of things out of used pianos, I decided to make my very own "Piano Bar." I was able to get a broken 1946 upright piano off of CL for $200 from a local church. Had to get the think moved to my house, best $150 I spent on the project. A little bit of cutting of the piano strings (surprised at the amount of tension they were under), removed about 250 pounds of cast iron sound board, a bit of paint, wood and LED lights and you have the final completed project. I am very happy with it and every one who comes over really digs the look. I kept the top part so that i can close everything up, and unless you knew that it was not a piano you'd be fooled, it has that speakeasy feel for sure.https://ift.tt/2TW8FU9 via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2TUmenc
