My credit is abysmal. (519 last month) I've been working to change that lately. I got a capital one secured card w/ a 300 dollar limit and haven't been going nuts with it and paying it off every month. Yesterday Credit Karma emailed me with a 90 point improvement but I still had one account still in collections that has been there since 2015. I clicked the phone number, called the collectors and by asking "would you settle for x?" I save 35% off the total. It'll take time for it to catch up but I'm on my way. Thanks to this sub and its anecdotes for me to even think that I could start. If your on the fence of why bother? Your right. You've got nothing to lose, so go try.
