So I just inherited around $600,000 in a trust and I have no idea what to do with it to make it last and make me comfortable. I have been broke my whole life, have school loan debt, and garbage credit. I'm 33 and work as a nanny part time (currently $15 an hour around 20hrs a week). I rent an apartment and own a car (that will need to be replaced soonish).
I would like this money to be my retirement, and help me live comfortably now (like buy a car and a house) so how can I do this? I will get the interest from the account monthly or quarterly (around $15k a year) and I can't take money from the trust and move it to like a 401k (I asked the bank).
Let me know if you need more info, I'm pretty much at a total loss.
