Quite often I come across "motivational" posts that tell us that if celebrity X or entrepreneur Y or sportsperson Z made it "big" in life by just working their arse off, then so can we. These "hopeful" messages can be quite exciting to read, but in reality they are only fuelling our never-ending desires for wanting more & more, and are not really adding any real value-based motivation to our lives.
I made a video going deeper into this phenomenon. I feel that randomness or luck, or better put, circumstance, plays a huge role in our lives and we often tend to overlook it by constantly telling ourselves we can achieve whatever we want, we can become whatever we want, and we can do better than everyone else. This kind of stressful thinking is akin to torturing ourselves, imho.
A better motivation is to focus on living a meaningful life by just telling ourselves - I am going to make the best of whatever I have, and take it as it comes.
Let me know what you guys think about this post, as well as the video.
