I've been renovating a kitchen and on one of the walls part of the wooden panelling had rotted away, leaving a huge gap at the bottom of the wall after I had removed them. The main problem now is that I've been to several hardware shops in the UK and none of them sell wood panels as thin as what's already there and now I don't know what to fill the gap with. Will a general purpose wood panel be enough and could I just use an adhesive to fix it within the gap ?For further context this kitchen was built in the 1960's and for some reason there was soil beneath the rotted panel (pictured and since removed). Once I do fill this gap, I plan to strip the wallpaper in the kitchen and just paint over the wood panels.Picture of the problem: http://bit.ly/2UG26pe via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2ZCnsYa
