I have a smallish spot in my dining room with some nasty scratches from a folding chair that didn't have protection on the metal legs. See here.What's the best way to rehab this? I want to make sure the repair will hold up as I have a new chair in the same spot. And I would like the repair to blend in as well as possible.My best guess is to sand each board entirely, fill in the scratches with wood filler, stain, and apply a protective coating?
