In the future, there are only a few things that I would like to really spend my money on and when it comes to anything else, I'd like to save as much money as possible. This includes apartments.
I don't see the need for multiple bedrooms or bathrooms. When I do get a living space, I mainly just want it to be me, my bed, my computer, and maybe a kitchen. I've heard of something called a studio apartment which is basically what I described, but I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to apartments and because I'm in NYC, the majority of studio apartments I looked at cost upwards of $2k a month for rent.
How would I go about looking for a small living space to rent that's cheap?
