I currently have three accounts. An employer 401k, Roth IRA with fidelity and an M1 brokerage. Both the 401k and Roth are 90/10, the 401k is strictly vanguard funds while the Roth consists of fidelity sector mutual funds.

My M1 account is more of a fun account and I currently have 20 stocks in a pie. The stock only account is beating the other two considerably and has been doing so for the last few months.

So i guess back to my question, how long would it usually take to see if a particular investing strategy you chose will work long term? I am rather weary of holding stocks in a Roth and feel more comfortable with MFs and ETFs but I am re thinking my strategy based upon the returns.
