Hey all. My wife and I bought our house a year ago and I would like to add a wall niche in the living room. When I researched it I found alot of pre molded niches but none of what I need. I came across a very vague DIY method using 3/4 ply wood to make a custom niche. So here are my questions: 1. Do I just leave it ply wood and paint it? Will it look like part of the wall?When I insert the box into the wall do I get reinforced stripping for the edges and then spackle or just use dry wall tape?Can i make a 2x4 outline then just put drywall over the 2x4s and spackle?Is there any other pieces of advice or things I am missing?I did try to research but it was strange how vague all the results were.
