My wife and I had a conversation last night and I'd like your opinion. We like to think we live an ok lifestyle and spend only 10% of our gross income every month as we are trying to save to buy a business.

So we start talking about all the weeds in the backyard and all the work that needs to be done. She'd like me to do it. However, I work 60-80 hours per week and would rather pay someone. The reason I'd rather pay someone?

  • I would like my free time to not be spent doing manual labor.

  • What I can make in an hour in an air conditioned room will pay for 12 hours of labor for someone to be working their ass off in the backyard.

  • I would like to think that not only am I not having to do the work, there's a decreased chance of chronic sun exposure for future skin cancer risk and decreased risk of falling or throwing out my back (I've had colleagues fall off their roofs to clean the gutters, get fractured and have to go through all that when they could've just paid someone to do it and they're in the same financial situation as me).

What are your thoughts for this specific situation
