I have a 16 year old car with 170k miles on it. Last night the alternator died & I was quoted $474 parts + labor.
Despite being old and having some cosmetic issues (fender with some duct tape, etc), it has been a good car to me and has no major issues. AC even works.
Should I repair this car? If not, I'm likely going to be financing a gently used car.
