We've got quite a dated kitchen. It's old enough that the units themselves don't have UK standard hinge positions, so simply replacing the doors and edges isn't an option as they would have to be custom.Basically the previous owners didn't take care of their kitchen. Some drawers are damaged, and some issues here and there I can fix but no where can I find any answer or advice on repairing the damage as shown in the pictures.I'm wondering if I can peel off / sand down the whole door, and these scuffs and these areas of fraying, and then prime and paint them.Or is it that the wood is too far gone? The fraying does look bad and I'm unsure of what sanding it down might do. Ideally I'd like to renovate our kitchen without having to spend a fortune.Images: http://bit.ly/2ZcPyJx Can I sand down and repair frayed woof edges caused by heat and steam damage? via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2P9Zxuu
