Ever since I became an adult I've done my best to live pretty simply. This tends to include my life goals; I don't aspire to own much, except for things that are worth it to me. I don't aspire to wealth, just enough to be comfortable and retire effectively. I don't exactly aspire to greatness, I just want to reach whatever I feel like my potential is and be satisfied with myself.
All of that said, I constantly am at conflict with the idea of living a balanced life, but also being able to do good things in the world. I want to work in medicine, but shied away from becoming a doctor due to how out of alignment the work/life balance is. I am looking through other career fields but in all of them I often find I don't feel like I would be doing enough good.
How do you either...
-
Find work with good work/life balance that allows you to do good things in the world?
-
Stop worrying so much about doing good things in the world and just live your life day by day?
