My wife and I are moving to Philadelphia in the next couple of months and we have considered buying a house because it seems like a better financial decision than renting, but we are scare have the commitment.
Some background: We're moving because it is where I go to college on the GI Bill. We are both looking for work at the moment. I contacted Veterans United about getting pre-approved for a VA loan, and they said we could borrow around 200k. We have around 20k that we would be willing to put on a down payment.
Again, we are just scared of being stuck or making a mistake. Realtors like to talk up buying because they make more money from it, so what does reddit think? I'm not sure what to do.
