So, as the title states, I've been thinking of buying a nice leather jacket because.... well, because I just want a nice leather jacket. I see that Schott is held in high regard here, so I started searching their website for something that would appeal to me. I'm gravitating towards either the model 184SM or the 563.
Now before I finally drunkenly convince myself to drop close to a grand on a single Jacket that I'm only going to wear every now and then in Central Texas heat.
Can anybody attest to their current BIFL-ness? Is the current production of stuff good to go?
Also, does anybody know if the ever have a seasonal summer sale? I can push off this purchase to summer to wait for a slight price discount.
Also, can anybody tell me about how the jackets fit? Unfortunately, there is not a single store local to me that carries any of their jackets. So, I'm using their website fit function, but I'm hesitant to drop a grand for the wrong jacket size.
And finally, does anybody have alternatives brands I can look at? Anything other brands that you'd recommend similar in style to the ones I linked above with a lower or similar price tag. Preferably made in the USA.
