To start off, I am in the State of Massachusetts. So, I have just recently found out that my mother and my grandfather have been using my name and SS for a social service. This service was meant to "help" my grandpa. My mom asked me if she could use my name originally, and I denied her the right to do so, but they both went ahead and signed up for this service. It has been going on since 2017. In about a year, they had made around 23 k from this service. Also, my mom hid my W2 from this "job" that came in the mail while I was at work last year. (Still in college). She also hid my W2 this year until she came clean and confessed to using my name and hiding the W2. My Girlfriend of three years has told me to file a police report and to get my own mailbox. I am hurt and pissed that they both did this and could potentially have landed me in Federal prison. Is there anyway for that to happen? I started working at a company that I love and I don't want to get in trouble with the law for this.
