Hey guys,
I have a pair of 1460 Doc Martens (not made in England) that have accompanied me for a little while.
When I bought them, it was on the premise of not investing too much to see if I liked these kind of boots, so I bought them for about 90€ on Amazon, back in black friday 2017. I've used them on almost a daily basis since, so I'm positively in love with the kind. I've replaced the inner soles from time to time (I'm an heavy guy, so i ruin them pretty fast) so they're still fine. Still, I'm guessing that more 6 months to a year of use and they'll be over.
Given that, I've started to slowly put money on the side for a pair of 8 eyed Derby Solovairs. Since they sell replacement soles, I don't see any reason not to use them forever.
However, they're still a steep investment for me (single dad and all), so I want to make sure I buy boots I enjoy.
Questions:
Regarding sizing, my DMs are size 8 and it's the right size for me. They were maybe a bit overly snug at the beginning (I have somewhat of an high arch), but after breaking they became perfect. Is the Solovair size 8 the right choice for me?
Does anyone have real world pics where I can compare greasy with hi shine? I know it probably won't make much of a difference after some greasing, but I'd still like to compare them.
