Hi folks. My friends living room floor is quite unlevel, the room is about 16 feet by 16 feet and it slopes a couples inches down towards the exterior. I don't know the cause but i am guessing it is the result of the house sinking. The unevenness of the floor is noticeable when you walk across it.My idea is to take up the subfloor and then sister a 2x6 to each floor joist and level it that way, then we will probably have to notch the drywall up to the new level and then put the subfloor back down.I understand we will have cut the subfloor accordingly to fit the new positions of the joists. We are planning to install new flooring so the carpet will be taken out at this time.Any ideas? Has anyone done this before? Thanks! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2XOByEW
