Hi BIFL, first-time poster here etc. My friend at uni actually recommended this subreddit so hey, shout out to analogue.
My requirements, I feel, are niche enough to be minimal in number.Basically, I'm looking for a everyday-use backpack for my laptop –– but with the added convenience of opening out in such a way, that I would be able to simply plop it on a table, zip it open, and start working from my laptop straight away, with the laptop still in the bag. One of those laptop bags could do it, but they are not backpacks, look pretentious, and are a bit of a pain if you want to travel handsfree. So basically something that combines the convenience of a backpack with the clamshell-open quality of a laptop bag, so that I can zip up and away with minimum fuss.
Something like this, perhaps?
The hassle of getting out the laptop, charger, stationary etc once I've found a spot is something I would like to kaizen out of my routine.I'm not too fussed on other details. Sure it would be nice if it were waterproof, a decent size, and versatile enough to be able to carry other things.
EDIT: Now that I've written out and shaped up my thought process in writing out this post, I had the idea of googling 'laptop bag backpack' and have noticed that there seems to be a number of hybrids available. So, that's a win for structuring-your-thoughts-via-writing. However, any specific recommendations and/or tips and tricks with regard to this line of thought still welcome.
