I had Cat5E cables ran to where I thought would be ideal locations for security cameras for my new build home. I realized now I want more cameras for better covered angles. So currently I have a camera mounted to a metal J-box cover, which is screwed to the J-box itself, which is few inches away from the corner on the stucco outside of my house.I imagine removing the camera and cover, and putting some sort of L shaped "bracket," which would mount to the J box and extend around the corner of the wall. I found an ethernet splitter (one in, three out), that I figured could be mounted to the bracket, and have some ethernet cables cleanly ran to a few cameras. My brother is a carpenter so I have access to tools and wood, figured I could match the paint of the house trim, but any tips or ideas? I posted a pic to demonstrate my simple idea, but I am not very clever when it comes to this stuff!https://ift.tt/2Uv0Ndy via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2Hmp81a
