So we have a two car garage. My half is all woodworking shit, I can't park in it. If my bench lifted vertically I could back my truck in underneath the workbench. Is it a stupid idea to install a winch in the ceiling, to a joist (even if it means cutting some drywall to really secure it), and create some kinda metal H-frame that would attach to the bench at 6 points, and then to the steel cable in the center?I feel like it is an awesome idea but I can't tell if the unintended consequences would be more of a pain in the ass.I wouldn't park in there every day.
