We installed crown molding and ran into a bit of an issue on one of our walls, we thought the board was just really crooked, it turns out the board was fine and the wall is just really not flat. There is about a 4' long section of the wall where the crown has up to 3/4" gap from the wall. We finished installing all the crown and decided we want to fill the gap somehow and just smooth/paint it to match the crown molding color.Question is, what material should we fill the gap with? Its too large to just put a backer rod in and caulk it, I was thinking minimally expanding foam, trim any excess off and paint that but honestly that sounds kind of messy and I was hoping someone might have a better idea? There is nothing behind the molding so it would also take quite a bit of foam to fill the area between the ceiling/wall/molding.We used 4 5/8" pine crown molding from home depot. Location is Pittsburgh, PA. Here is a picture of the gap:https://ift.tt/2HdJ46z via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2ELGZgx
