I just wanted to share my experience getting a refund/credit on my last internet bill.
From March 18 - 22nd I've been experiencing awful connection speeds. I pay $50 for 50mbps and was getting anywhere between 15 and .01 mbps. Unacceptable right.. I hate calling in because I get so upset when I call them even though I somehow maintain composure on the phone, which I did this last Friday.
We did the whole off/on tests and when the rep asked my speed I showed 25mbps which I told her. (Interesting point, she didn't seem to have confirmation of my actual speed.)
She then said a tech would have to come out. My response was reluctant because Xfinity (fucking comcast) always says they'll come out to assess cost-free, but then charge me $60 which I have to call and argue aginst. I said how I was upset at these multiple past experiences and I explicity do not want to be charged.
The rep was gracious and understanding and credited me $30 off my next bill which just came in my email for confirmation. So, hopefully this anecdote was somewhat insightful. I'm not a writer but glean what you can.
