I really consider these two foods to be miraculous in terms of both cost and nutrition. Less than a dollar for six bananas, less than two dollars for a dozen eggs, and many servings come with each of these amounts. Fat, protein, and several different vitamins and minerals, including potassium, niacin, and Vitamin D. I see "how do I eat for the next week on x dollars?" posts all the time but I rarely see these two foods pushed the way beans and rice are. I also recommend making store brand almond milk a frequent purchase.
