I will be moving to Des Moines, IA in the summer for grad school. I'm considering going carless during my time there (3yrs) to keep my debt down.
I have the option of buying my sister's car (2014 Nissan Versa) for the KBB price of ~$2,500 which is a really great deal, but I think I may still pass on it and instead get an apartment across from campus. I haven't driven in 8 years and have never had to drive in snow, so I'd rather avoid it if possible.
What does /r/Frugal think I should do?
