I'm 17 and gonna be graduating in 2020. My current plan was to go to college to major in finance and minor in IT(I know it's a ton of work but it's worth it to me). I've just been offered an electrician apprenticeship that I can take one of two ways.
I could become a residential electrician. It's a three year program, I'd make about 68,000 plus benefits during it and get 36,000 a year as a journeyman.
I could also become a commercial electrician. It's a six year program that would pay a total of 152,000 plus benefits during the apprenticeship. I'd also have a starting pay of 60,000 a year as a journeyman.
My issue is that with residential level training, I would be able to go to college after and get both my financial degree and be able to be an electrician on the side. What would be my best course of action? Any advice would also be very appreciated.
