I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had clients call in a panic because the IRS is auditing them and they need a bank transaction from 2007 or 2008.

Or a client calling because they’re going through a divorce and need to prove what’s what before and after union.

And I can’t get the documents to them because everything is purged after 10 years.

the best thing you could do is save your bank/financial statements in PDF format and have the copy stored in a USB drive, which you can keep in a safe deposit box. You think you might not need it, but you never know...
