I think thrift store can be a great place to save on money, but only if you hunt for the right items! Things like household items are my favorite things to look out for! I like metal untensils that I can disinfect with hot water. Old pans and pots are also a very good deal! I know people at r/castiron often show off their thrift store haul of vintage cast iron. For me, I often look out for metallic pans and pots, like stainless steel. I don't recommend worn, burn non-stick pans, however.
