Apologies if this is not an appropriate place for this, but I am getting married in September in California and planning on an elopement with just my fiancee, my best friend, and the officiant. I'm trying to research where we can do it with out having to pay and not finding much. I don't want to get into trouble if we just walk into a public park and have a quick 10 minute ceremony.
Has anyone here done this or have any advice on scoring a "venue" for free?
