I know you can reuse screw holes in wood when done carefully, would it be the same for MDF? Or would it tear away and lose its strength?A little context:I have a beautiful rock Laminate piece left over from a job my company just finished. I wanna create a minimalist floating wall art above my turntable. With smart LED’s around the backing. To make it complete floating glowing piece of rock , I wanna eliminate the power cord that plugs into the wall by converting it into a batter pack.I used 1”x2” MDF stripes 1” 3/8 away from the edge of the laminate. Leaving 3/8 around the back frame for the LED’s . Which gives me a nice inch “floating” boarder. My original plan was to use three large saw tooth hangers to hold this puppy up. But after some thought I know that the slight down angle would piss me off. I want this to be tight as possible to the wall while being able to support the MDF frame. So my next idea is to place a cleat underneath the top piece of the MDF frame. Screw the top sides of the frame to the clear using a metal brace.Which comes to my question. Is it possible to reuse screw holes in MDF? I would like to hang this up tomorrow.Securely. I won’t be able to do all the electrical stuff until after the weekend. Also in the future when the battery pack dies I need to have access to it. via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2Ilec6m
