So, I see quite a few posts on here of shoes/boots that people have purchased that seem to last forever (just re-soled, shined, etc. for longevity). I need some of these!
Basically, I work as a salesperson in a furniture store with concrete floors. I'm not allowed to sit down unless I don't have a customer, so when it's really busy, I may not sit down for up to 12 hours. Consequently, my feet always hurt. My feet even hurt on my days off, but they especially hurt when I take my first steps in the mornings.
I have purchased Skechers D'Lites in the past, and I liked the amount of cushioning they had (memory foam) in the insole, but the newer versions sit too low on my foot. They felt like they'd slide off. Also, since I have wide feet, I tend to have a problem with shoes where my pinkie toe gradually wears a hole in the side of the shoe. I'm currently wearing some cheap $25 Pay Less slip on sneaker style shoes, and while they are comfortable (I have wide feet), they do not provide enough cushion at all.
Also, the shoes have to come in solid black. They can't have any other colors. Even the soles have to be black per my company's dress code. I am definitely willing to consider dress shoes, but I tend to prefer sneakers/tennis shoes.
So, to sum up:
Size: US Women's 7.5-8.5 Wide
Budget: Up to $150
Color: Solid Black
Wants: BIFL, Good cushion & support for standing for long periods, repairable
Any suggestions are welcome and very helpful!! Thanks!!
