Hello /DIY!We just bought a new house and the master bedroom bath has a standing shower with a cement floorpan. The tile is in ok shape physically and functionally, but my wife doesn't love the look aesthetically. We are proficient tile layers, but have never done a shower before - particularly a shower floor. My first thought is to carefully remove all of the tile, remove any thinset stuck to the surface, smooth the surface, then re-tile/grout/waterproof. As long as none of the cement board on the walls or the cement floorplan have any damage, it seems like it's this simple.I've been doing some reading and everything I've found online outlines the process for creating a new standing shower, which is more than I need to do. So my question is, does anyone have experience removing then replacing standing shower tiles? Anything I need to be considering? Thanks! via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2G6kbK8
