I've been simplifying things in my life a lot over the past two years and I am grateful for the benefits that have come with that. It's made me wonder how I can make things simpler for family if anything were to happen to me.
Some of the things which people do to simplify their own lives will automatically make things easier for anyone dealing with possessions etc. after death. For example, getting rid of unwanted possessions: I've heard of people struggling to decide whether to get rid of certain family possessions after death due to sentimentality etc. of items. Decluttering/minimising reduces the chance of this happening. I do not want an item (that I may not have been that bothered about) weighing someone down like that.
Are there other areas where we can make things more straightforward for people who have to deal with the aftermath of losing someone?
Some things I've considered: - Getting rid of all unwanted physical items - Access to digital accounts and bank accounts - Leaving a will - Having life insurance to help with finances - Information on preferences for funeral
