New homeowner. Have been in the house 6 months. Flooring in the main floor consists of extremely worn carpet in the living room and den and linoleum in the kitchen and dining area. Planning on redoing the floors. Cost to replace just the carpet is about $1,000. Am considering replacing both the carpet and linoleum myself with vinyl or laminate, with this being my first large DIY home project. My budget would be pretty tight, trying to keep the 750 sq feet area to $1500-$1700 dollars. My question is, we plan on moving out of this house in 3 years, so really resale value is the most important. Any good budget vinyl or laminate flooring you guys have used?
