So I worked for this oil and gas company. With about 100 employees give or take. I started in the beginning of January 2018 and left in mid July 2018. The first four months we're great. Making decent money. Working about an average of 130 hours every two weeks. I would often go to Walmart to cash my paycheck along with half the employees. (Company didn't offer direct deposit. Only for supervisors and up). Then Walmart stopped cashing our checks with no reason as to why. So one time I deposited it into my bank account only for it to bounce two weeks later. My company did fix it. Explaining that they only put enough money into the "payroll account" to cover all payroll checks and that there was an accounting error. Well others kept complaining of this happening. And business started slowing down drastically. So I left. Then they closed their doors for good in august. Fastward to February 14th and I still hadn't yet received my W-2s from them. I went to a tax preparer with my other w2 from the company that I went to after. And told him what was going on. And the most recent paystub I could find was from 5-25-18. I know dumb of me to not put them all up. Any way he was going to look into it. And I went home and started digging to find more paystubbs only to find another one of the same exact pay date 5-25-18. Same YTD, Same everything. The only difference I could find WAS THE CHECK NUMBER, completely different numbers what does that mean? Then I called the IRS to see if the company had turned in anything to them. And they said there is no record of them submitting taxes. I am not telling smartest person when it comes to this stuff. So please tell me what all of this means. Also I talked to three different past employees and two said they have, and is in process of suing owner for stealing their taxes. And sueing for unpaid wages.
So PLEASEEE HELP ME... WHAT DO I DO???
