Basically, my entire family is of the opinion that the entire funeral industry is one big scam. No one wants anything "special" when they pass. If it were legal to just leave Mom out by the curb on trash day we'd go with that option.
The cheapest cremation is still commonly over $1000, plus there are always additional handling fees of hundreds of dollars.
What other options are there?
(Edit: my morbid joke about trash day is primarily there to drive the point home that my family members genuinely don't care what happens to each other's bodies)
