Been doing some research, narrowed my choice down to Klean Kanteen and Yeti but had a few questions on the bottles. I’m a student and will be spending most days on commuting around town. I tried a family member’s yeti for a couple of days, really big fan of the mouth design and how smooth the liquid comes out and just the feel of the container at the mouth of the bottle. It’s a much better experience than what I’m used to (nalgene wide mouth, still have to sometimes concentrate just to not overspill down my face.) Only thing I’m concerned with is that if the kk is just as good of an experience since I’ve never tried one before. If so, I’d probably just go kk for it being a tiny bit cheaper/(mostly because)certified B corporation.
Another thing about yeti is that they have an option for a leakproof straw lid, since these bottles are so big I’ll probably throw them in a bag instead of a side pocket. Also like the compatibility between multiple sizes. Also, more sizes, all wide mouth.
Reason for yeti instead of HF: personally in my classes they’re everywhere. (Yeti is probably like that in the outdoor world). HF has no leak proof straw lid. Prices are no longer significantly different between the two.
Klean kanteen: B corporation, brand is a little less in your face like yeti and hf which is great and more minimal/easier to carry since the size. This can also play a factor since I’m lugging around my things all day rather than throwing it in the car for half of the time.) Although some concerns: been reading that the lids have been leaking in the more newer models, from the site themselves. Only one 20 oz wide mouth insulated size, with that size it would be harder to refill unless I stop at a food place with a machine, although much lighter/easier to carry. No straw lid (although if experience is on par with yeti I won’t even need an alternative to twist off style). Also certain interactions I’ve read with customer service haven’t been great, though that could have multiple factors to consider.
So I ask, have you tried kk and yeti before, or just one? What’s been your experience with the product/customer service? What size do you have and how do you like it? Are any products mentioned today actually bifl? Beside nalgene surprisingly
