Hello. I am a newbie and financially stupid. Forgive formatting errors and any irrelevant information. TLDR at the bottom.
I want to buy a mobile home that's currently listed at 32,000 in a couple months, and of course try to negotiate a lower price if possible (probably is possible.) It would be probably an 8 year loan and with lot rent+payment it will likely cost less than what I currently rent for. It would be a more permanent living situation (unlike renting) and therefore I'd save on all of those yearly fees I have to make for renting and never get returned despite cleaning and not damaging things. In my area there are not many good apartment complexes and bad things keep happening that make these renting situations certainly not ideal. With how things work around here, it seems I have exactly 1 month to attempt to find a place to live every single time I need a new apartment which obviously means that sometimes I have to settle which also means possibly a bad lease and leads to dropping more money on a new place. The mobile home I want to move into would also slash commute time and save me money. Water would be paid for, garbage would be paid for, and then I'd have to pay the other utilities. My parent's electric is $350 but I believe they are not frugal or financialy motivated so I have no knowledge on what's nornal. All I know is my apartment electric is $60 on a bad month.
TLDR: cheap mobile home for $32000 (would need financing) instead of renting for an 8 year period in my desired more safe neighborhood close to work. Smart or stupid?
