Hey! My topic probably seems very strange to you without background so let me give you a quick overview of the situation. Banks in my country are not really trustworthy – even those who are considered big and safe regularly have fuckups, poor client service and it may take you eternity to solve the problems if you ever face those. This sometimes makes hard cash a lot easier and safer to deal with in my country but you probably understand that in 2019 where people mostly operate with digital money (I mean pay for things with credit cards face to face in a shop or buy things online with them) hard cash in not pleasant to be forced to deal with.
I came here in hopes that there are banks/services that operate internationally that more educated people than me can tell me about. I want a safe place/service where I can store money, which I can use to pay with, which I don’t have to fear that may go bankrupt all of a sudden or misdirect a mobile payment because someone somehow connected your phone number to his bank account without any confirmations needed from your phone number and bank refuses to admit mistakes and make a refund (I am not kidding here, this shit really happened in one of the biggest banks in my country).
I’ve done a little research myself and at first PayPal seemed somewhat of a thing that I was looking for, I’ve also seen that it is one of the ways that a lot of websites and businesses here accept payments with but I am not entirely sure how it operates. If I understood it correctly, you have to connect you bank’s card to PayPal so it acts just as a paying method? And it’s not actually something like a banks account where you keep your money? Or you can actually store money there just as in a bank but they don't do it because it's not safe?
I probably used a lot of wrong terminology and wierd assumptions while making this thread so please accept my apologies but I am really not good at this topic because me and my family has been dealing with hard cash exclusively most of my life and it’s kind of hard to get someone educate me properly on this topic.
