It’s my dream to own and run a successful store. However, I’ve no idea on the beginning steps to have one.

Currently, I am a manager at a restaurant. People want food, so they come to our store to buy it. It’s that simple. My job is simply to make the store runs as efficiently as possible. I make sure everything to do with the store is done to the best of my ability and sell as much food and make as much money as possible and make as many people happy as possible. All for the end goal being profit.

Our restaurant makes 2.5 million dollars a year, yet I only make 20 grand a year. Doing the math, that equates to .8% of profit going to me. It feels like I’m wasting my time putting all this work into this company only for my owner to be getting so much more than me, for a store that I am running.

However I understand that it does make sense. This man has worked hard to be where he is and there is a lot of work that he does that I don’t have to worry about.

I guess what I’m wondering is what did he do to get in that position? What is the next step I need to take to get myself out of this restaurant and into one of my own and start actually keeping the money my store gets?
