How much should I be saving from every paycheck? What's a good amount of money to keep in savings?

Right now I have 10k in my savings. I make about $600/wk (2400/mo). What percentage of my income should be going into my savings every week? Is 10k a good amount to have or is that considered low? I'm currently going to school and trying to figure out life things. Thanks for any advice!
