Good Morning PF- I have been dealing with a situation this week where I got an intimidating letter from my insurance company about my homeowner policy being canceled. It turns out my mortgage servicer was late in paying my home insurance.

I alerted my mortgage company (Mr Cooper; FKA Nationstar) and they had acknowledged being late, but nevertheless apologized and assured me that payment had been sent. Sure enough, a couple days later I could see the payment had been made.

I was satisfied until this morning when I saw $25 late fee was paid to insurance company out of my escrow account. Should I be footing the bill for this late fee via my escrow?

It is obviously not worth much time to chase this small amount of money down, but for curiosity sake has anyone run in to a situation like this?
