I'm on my way to execute the "peephole-camera" project.plan is to attach an old android phone to the door, pointing it's main camera thru the peephole, and having video streamed to the screen as quickly as someone uses the doorbell or walks to the door. doorbell & motion sensing is not an issue [I've already have MQTT-capable button as a ringbell, so I can later figure out to "wake up" the phone on press].the problem is with optics. I've got standard peephole lense mounted in the door. when attaching phone to it, I can see something like on the picture below. I know, I can zoom in the phone's camera, but it's not perfect as: resolution will drop heavily [been there, done that], camera software is not remembering zoom level.I've tried to search some mounts, or different peepholes, but either I'm bad with choosing the keywords, or it's not that simple as I thought - BUT is there any way to tweak the peephole [mount additional lense?] without adding too much bulk, and have the field of view filled more?thru the peephole. *dramatization. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2NkmJFq
