Seven years ago, I started cutting my own hair. I'll note that I'm a guy who's happy with a relatively standard haircut, but I do try new things now and then. I've only paid for a cut once since then (for my wedding.) After a few cuts, I realized it was easier than it sounded. So I spent about 100 bucks and got a decent set of clippers, hair scissors, and thinning shears. I've also switched from cartridge razors to safety razors. And started using shave soap and a brush instead of creams and lotions.
All told, I've saved well over $2000 dollars in less than a decade. It's probably more, but I didn't want to exaggerate. Hair cuts and shaving can be incredibly cheap without sacrificing quality! I actually break out less now than I used to from razor burn. Buying a cheap set of one hundred razor blades means a new razor for every shave.
I read a lot of ideas on here that might save you a few bucks. This is something YOU CAN DO! and save literally hundreds and thousands over a lifetime. Don't buy into the marketing that you need to spend a fortune to feel good about your hair!
